Last Day @HP

Mar 14, 2010 19:23

Dear all,

After five years and eleven months, two bundles, seven managers, two laptops, three RS floors, and countless changes, it is with mixed feelings that I close this chapter of my career and open a new one. My stay in HP has been a rollercoaster ride, and I have conquered challenges and grew both professionally and personally because of YOUR support, guidance and encouragement. It was a privilege to work, and spend time, with such talented and remarkable individuals as YOU. I hope I’ve touched your lives in one way or another, as you have left footprints in my heart.

Thank you for accompanying me in my HP journey, for the opportunity to teach and be taught, for the laughter and exchange of advices, for the gift of friendship, and even for buying stuff that I sell :p While it is time for a change in my life, I will of course miss the relationships we have fostered over these years. I hope to take with me the many learnings and good memories from this fun and rewarding experience. Hopefully, our paths will cross again in the near future J

I'll always be glad to hear from you even after my @hp email is removed from the HP address book. Please feel free to stay in touch through the following mediums:

Yahoo Messenger: cj_trixie@yahoo.com

Email: mich.michie@gmail.com

LinkedIn: mich.michie@gmail.com

Facebook

I would like to wish all of you and your family good health, success, and God's blessings. Keep in touch!

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

See you around,
Mich

That was my farewell@HP email. After almost 6 years of working there, I finally left my first job, and without any breaks I'm starting with my new company tomorrow (March 15). It wasn't about the money (if it were I would have left two years ago when we first didn't have any increase), or the stress (at least, not anymore), or anything like that. My options were to pursue SAP in HP, or move to another company, both new opportunities after management decided our team was going to be dissolved. I was also transparent with my plans early on, though I didn't start looking for other jobs outside the company until I verified that release date to be final (loyal employee that I was) -- our job release date was delayed from January to end of April. It so happened that the other opportunity came first. Details are reserved for personal talks so just message me privately if you have questions:)

work, ramblings
