On Winning Promos/Contests
I'm fond of joining promos/contest (usually on TV and occasionally online) because I do actually win some :D My friends say I'm lucky when it comes to these contests, and I suppose luck has a lot to do with it, but I think it also starts with taking the time to join, and joining those that might have only a few entries, thus giving better chances of winning. I can't really accurately factor in the odds, so I usually try to enter the easy-to-answer ones. And if I see something I know the answer to, even only by chance, I enter the promo/contest ASAP. And sometimes you don't even have to answer anything - just watch TV and send your contact info to a promo and that's it. So far, I've won the following:
2007: Heroes planner (courtesy of Star World's Heroes contest) - this one arrived during the second half of that year, and so I adjusted the dates so I could use it for 2008 (sayang eh)
2008: Trip for two to New York (courtesy of Velvet Channel's Sex and the City Fly Away promo)

2009: a pair of Havaianas (courtesy of Spot.PH's 50 Things to do in Manila promo) - I received the email notification only last week so I still plan to claim them this week.

I've also won the following items previously from Studio 23 but I don't remember when, though these were probably before I won the Heroes planner:
Two tickets for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory advanced screening - I also entered James in this promo and both of us won, so we invited Cami and Boker to watch the movie with us for free.
Desperate Housewives notepad and pink shirt - the shirt fits but it's a bit tight so I don't use it often, and I only use it at home
2010 has recently begun, and I feel that I have a lot more to look forward to as time passes by. And I feel a lot of changes coming as well. For one thing, I'm getting married this year. But that won't be the only big change in my life this year. As things take a more concrete shape, I'll write more updates, though some may be protected posts.
All I can say is, God listens to our prayers if we believe. Keep the faith!
