November 28: Merryll's bridal shower at Mandarin Oriental hotel. I got dressed up as a bride with a gown made of tissue paper for a game.

We rented a house with a pool and videoke machine. Teammates brought food and drinks as well - we had Cez' family's adobo and grilled tilapia cooked by our new hires for lunch, pancit canton for merienda, grilled liempo for dinner, and corned beef for midnight snacks. Since I'm too lazy to write more about it, I'm redirecting you to
Alvin's blog where he has more info and pics about our offsite.
December 10: HP Charity Event (in lieu of the Christmas Party). There was food and a program, and that's all. No Christmas goodies for the first time in HP Philippines history.
December 11-12: AMG Offsite at Grande Island, Subic
So this week we crammed work into two working days because the rest were spent on teambuildings. This one was AMG's quarterly coffee talk and Christmas Party rolled into one offsite. We got up so early only and arrived at the site at 9am, only to find out there was no breakfast, and our rooms woudn't be ready until past 1pm. FAIL!
Had lunch around 12:30pm, followed by the coffee talk and recognitions, then free time. My friends rode the banana boat; I just took pictures. Barbecue dinner was at 6pm followed by the evening program. It was fun watching the managers (accompanied by some extended lead team members and new hires) perform for a charity cause. Afterwards, drinks went all around. I don't remember if it was 1 or 2am when I hit the sack.

December 20: Dinner with balikbayans Geebee and Karon
Dinner at MESA, Greenbelt 5, then coffee at Seattle's, then Geebee/Daisie/Kian/Francis went to see Avatar in 3D at SM MOA, while the rest of us had one bottle (which turned to more than one bottle) at Krocodille Grille. I didn't finish my one bottle since I'm not that fond of beer or gin.

So this was the reason I stayed late in Manila despite the HP shutdown commencing last December 19. I was even an impromptu veil sponsor - I was told only the night before to cover for the original secondary sponsor because she suddenly couldn't go due to work. I imagine it must have been stressful for the bride to learn that fact the day before her wedding, and so I readily agreed. I had to buy formal silver shoes that morning, had hair and make-up done (I was so not satisfied with Ystilo Salon, robbing me of my Php 850). The dress was loose, so we put a safety pin at the back. I plan to have it altered one of these days so I could at least re-use it.

December 30: Met with HS friends Chard, Teng, Riz, and Kha (followed after) at SM City (where else?). Had lunch at Pizza Hut, then Chard went to see a movie with his med school friends, while the rest of us accompanied Kha have lunch at the newly-opened Dulcinea branch.

I retained my make-up from that morning's trial session as advised by my mom since we paid for it anyway. I just powdered my face to get rid of the oil (and you know how oily my face can be, it's been always a frustration). This is me with my cousins on my father's side, not including the younger ones (JJ, Luke, Ashrielle, and Gabby) since they were playing in a room. You can just imagine how the picture would look like if we were complete, with our grandma, grandpa, and everyone's parents. I'm still waiting for my uncle to upload the wacky family picture.
January 1: Happy New Year! Met with the couturier for the bride's gown design, and had customary lunch at Mama Gan restaurant with the Choco family.
January 3: Flight back to Manila, and to reality.
