Well, I served my time trying to communicate with my political opponents. And the main reason I gave up? I got really tired of dealing with people who literally learned all their rhetorical skills from Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly. Entering "discourse" with people like them is like drinking a vial of nitric acid just to prove it's a bad idea.

Stupidity hurts my brain. Deliberate stupidity, moreso.
I served that time as well. I decided to hell with honesty, seeing how much they value it, and now I communicate with them in different ways, more subtle, less honourable, and probably - no, definitely - more effective.
It does a number on my conscience though, so this kind of "seeding", as I call it, is something I only do when my...well, when my flower feels wilted and my pod wants to burst.
