As the dust begins to settle...
The good news is that initial estimates report that the auction made $20,000 (yes that's 20 THOUSAND) dollars more than we did last year...just in case I'm not getting this, does that qualify as a successful improvement? ;)
Last week of work till I get laid off. I never thought this would happen with a company like this, and I certainly didn't expect some of the treatment or lack thereof that I have experienced over the past couple weeks. Needles to say that there are a few select people that have burned their bridges way beyond the hope of any repair...most of them people that I used to have a lot more respect for than I do now.
The good news is that I have solidified a new friendship with someone that I think will be great to have around. K and I have pretty much come to the mutual plan to be each others' job search buddies and help each other until we both have gainful employment again. We've also started to bond on a more personal level, and I think our friendship could develop into something very special.
Need to get some sleep before I have to go to work tomorrow. Sleep has been difficult with all of he stressors lately. Maybe I should be focusing on getting through this week and then worry about everything else instead of trying to figure it all out at the same time...
