How exactly does one get a cup out? Cup suggestions?

Haha, thanks!
When you say "reach your hand in" do you mean reach all five fingers of your hand in? How many fingers to "grab" the stem? That's mainly the part I'm confused on. How many fingers total do I have to be able to fit in? What if I can't reach the stem because my fingers aren't long enough and my cervix is too high?
Which cup do you use? How high is your cervix? I can't reach mine so I'm assuming it's high.
The Lily actually seems one of the least scary to me since it rolls up so small and people say it has a very nice, smooth silicone.
And yeah I suppose my hymen could tear a bit but then it won't hurt anymore...it has to tear sometime.

I just use two fingers, sometimes three, to grab the stem. Mostly I just use my middle finger and thumb, then add my index to the grip once I've pulled it a little bit past the opening. They don't even go in but for the very tips of them, and since the cup is silicon, it stretches, so I can pull the stem a little to get my fingers out so I can push in that one finger from my other hand. I...actually don't know my size. I just looked at the cups, saw the different measurements from Large and Medium/Small, and, since I have a heavy flow, chose the Large one anyways even though as just under 26 and a virgin as well I 'should' have picked the Medium/Small. No big deal, like I said, only 4mm indifference. Also, I actually don't know what brand I'm using, I bought them off Ebay since I didn't want to spend too much on something that might not have worked: got two for around 6 USD and another two of a different kidn for around 4.50 USD. So I have four (and I was right in ordering doubles since I practically immediately lost one of each OTL I ( ... )

Ok, that's helpful, thanks!
On this sub there's a measuring guide for finding your cervix just with your finger (one nuckle is low, two is medium, can't reach is high) and people recommend cups based off that. (the cervix, from my understanding based on researching on here and youtube videos, is the neck of your uterus and feels like the tip of your nose) Maybe it's not that important for me to find it though since you seem to have figured it out!
But yeah maybe sometime I'll try a larger cup. It's good the ebay ones worked for you but I'd be afraid to try for fear of what they could be made of since they're unbranded!
Someone else suggested just bearing down to get the stem out, which seems like a good idea to me. I don't think it could go all the way up inside me since my cervix would be there to stop it.
Thanks for your help and have a lovely day!

But will the stem be outside of me if my cervix is high? Don't cups ride up?
Thanks for the tips!

Even if it does ride high, you can still remove it by bearing down and using your thumb and pointer to grab the stem and tug it out. Always remain relaxed when you are trying to remove the cup and if you can't remove it, don't panic. Just take a few deep breaths and try again.

I think that because you have a high cervix, you'd suit a tall cup better, since, even if it rides high, you should still be able to feel the stem with one finger.

Even mine sometimes slides inside but by bearing down, I can grip the stem and proceed to remove it.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention earlier that I remove my cup sitting on the toilet, so after removal, I just tip the blood out and rinse my cup at the sink.

Ok, that makes sense! How high is your cervix?
Do you think the lunette model 1 would be long enough or should I go for the lily?

I recommend you try looking for your cervix (heh, that sounds so silly) while sitting on the toilet. I can't do anything standing up. Feeling my cervix, inserting the cup, removing the cup - can't manage any of it if I'm standing up. But sitting down? Easy peasy. Or you can start by squatting (in the tub) if you're afraid of dropping the cup in the toilet. I actually did that once and had to replace it, so squatting might be safer in the beginning, 'till you get the hang of it.

Oh, and I use two fingers, thumb and pointer finger.

It just feels easier for me to stand, but maybe once I try with a cup I'll find it easier to sit!

Lol! Same here. I can only manage inserting/removing the cup seated on the toilet.

Hi! Don't know if you've already seen this, but Bree from Precious Stars Pads made a very helpful video about removing a menstrual cup: https://youtu.be/LljkmNl8qdc... )

I think I have but I'll check it out again, thanks for the detail!
Weird question...when you try to find your cervix does it sometimes feel tissuey and you wonder if you have passed your cervix? If that makes any sense? Or does it always just feel like smooth vaginal walls?

My insides just feel soft and fleshy to me. I'm told that the cervix feels like a hard, nose-like bump. I've never felt that, even on heavier days when my cervix is likely lower than usual. I've tried standing, sitting, feeling to the right and left and up and down. I can't seem to find the darn thing. :D
