How exactly does one get a cup out? Cup suggestions?

You'd think this would be obvious, what with all the reading/researching/youtubing I've done ( Read more... )

But will the stem be outside of me if my cervix is high? Don't cups ride up?
Thanks for the tips!

Even if it does ride high, you can still remove it by bearing down and using your thumb and pointer to grab the stem and tug it out. Always remain relaxed when you are trying to remove the cup and if you can't remove it, don't panic. Just take a few deep breaths and try again.

I think that because you have a high cervix, you'd suit a tall cup better, since, even if it rides high, you should still be able to feel the stem with one finger.

Even mine sometimes slides inside but by bearing down, I can grip the stem and proceed to remove it.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention earlier that I remove my cup sitting on the toilet, so after removal, I just tip the blood out and rinse my cup at the sink.

Ok, that makes sense! How high is your cervix?
Do you think the lunette model 1 would be long enough or should I go for the lily?

I think that I have a low cervix as I can kinda touch it when I insert my finger inside.

I think that the Lily makes more sense. It's a lot smoother, longer, has no rim and it holds slightly more than the Lunette. I saw a review that showed that the Lily has a different folding method and I think that since you're a virgin, the Lily would be easier for you to insert and remove.

All the best and just remember to relax. If it's hard to get the cup in or remove, just stop, breathe and then try again.

If you can kinda touch it when you reach your finger inside as far as it will go, you don't have a low cervix; that's high or medium height.
Low is if you stick your finger halfway in, or less, and your cervix is right there.

Oo!!! I didn't know that! I had thought that as long as you can touch your cervix, it's low.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Now it makes sense why my XL Meluna sometimes rides high.

You don't want anything hanging out of you once everything is in place. But if you have a high cervix, leave the stem of the cup untrimmed (if you get a cup with a stem). Insert the cup and get it situated. If part of the stem is hanging out, you will want to remove the cup, and trim the stem with a pair of scissors. If the stem is just inside the vaginal opening and you can't feel it, then you're all good ( ... )

Thanks for the ideas, that sounds less intimidating than what I was imagining! (:
I'm just worried that I'm passing my cervix. This last time I tried to find it, it was sort of painful and I couldn't stick my finger in as far as before without sort of bumping into something that made it more painful? But I didn't feel a donut haha. If that makes any sense at all. I am on a heavy day of my period though.
It just seems like I feel a lot of bumpyness and tissue everywhere, not just vaginal walls, or something or maybe I'm imagining it. Everyone makes it seem so easy, "just stick your finger in and find your cervix" but anatomy just seems more complicated than that...and feels more complicated.
