Busy, busy.

The new job I wasn't so sure about has cancelled on me five times now. I'm ok with that, we're not so bad financially and part of the reason she cancelled was because the little boy was sick. I've had a bunch of other gigs and the next two nights I'm earning a disgusting amount to sit around and play on my computer.

I have the Ottawa trip for my Pack figured out. We're going in May and I have nearly everything booked. I'm just waiting to hear back from the Science museum about our overnight. Once I have an answer from them I'll finalize the rest. I wish I had more Cubs but we're having a really great time and it's been a pleasure this year.

Last month I was gatekeeper for a group called CAEO so that they could use the Church for a social. They're self-funded and this way I was able to get the space for them at no charge. Since we had the place to ourselves I was able to join in and I liked them so much I'm looking at doing their training session in January.

Playgroup attendance has dropped. It should pick up once the H1N1 fears settle down. I'm having such a great time with them and it's been really relaxed lately. Yay for the plague!

I had my first drop in with the Youth Group this year and I'll be going back more often. I wish Church wasn't so damn early in the morning.

ASL class is going so well this year. I got 8/13 on that family assignment and if I send him a short video covering a bit I missed I'll get another 3 points. I'm not worried at all about the exam for a change and the other asignment I have due should be a breeze. I'm retaining stuff a LOT better and I wonder if that has anything to do with the Adderall. I've stayed after the last couple of classes to chat a bit with my teacher and while it's frustrating that I get "hand-tied" I'm managing to get my point across pretty well.

I wish I had a video of our last class-- we were learning classifiers and had a page of pictures that we had to put names to. The names were on the board and person A had to fingerspell the word then ask person B what it meant. Person B had to describe the shape of the pasta or hat or furniture and we would match the name to the picture they described. Well, he hands out the second sheet and I'm feeling pretty cocky-- I know the names of all the items but two. Next he wrote the names on the board and all hell breaks loose-- they are complete nonsense! The class *freaked*! They were calling people to get them to look the words up, texting them to friends, using their cells to search the internet... pure chaos. I pretty much sat back and waited for things to settle down (laughing my ass off on the inside). My poor teacher had no clue why they were flipping out but he finally took pity on them and wrote numbers by the words so they knew which one went in which spot. We still had to describe the item and what it did though.

Ceramics is still fun. I have one item glazed and another to do when I get into class on Monday. None of the other stuff I made really turned out though.
