My daily step average so far this week is 5,839 steps... Pretty pathetic.
I have been STUCK sitting and reading articles and books and then sitting and writing papers about said articles and books. My butt is sore and my brain is tired. Yesterday, I turned in three assignments and got an update on my grades. I have an A+ average in the first class - I have turned in two assignments and a midterm and have aced all of them (!). In the second class, I have 120 out of a possible 200 points. Yesterday, I turned in another written assignment and gave a presentation about a book I finished. I'm hoping those two combined will put me up to 200.... Then, even though there are other assignments for that class, I may just stop turning them in since I'll have the necessary 200 points for an A. Why do more than I need to? These classes are killing me anyway. Jeff says, "At least all your hard work is paying off" since I'm getting A's.
One funny thing that happened yesterday during my presentation: I was quoting Abraham Lincoln who said, "If I had eight hours to cut down a tree, I'd spend six hours sharpening my ax." But instead of saying AX, I got tongue-tied and said ASS. Thankfully, we're all adults and had a good laugh together about that one. It was pretty funny! "Sharpening my ass" - haha!
My last class is Tuesday. Thank. God. But I will still have a take home final and a final essay assignment to write for the class I'm averaging an A+. Those are due the week after that. It's all culminating.
VBS is also coming up this next week. I'm nervous like I always am but what always happens on that first day is an overwhelming sense of synergy along with a presence of God that is almost tangible. People always pull through and the week goes GREAT. I always feel so burdened to carry the weight of VBS each summer. I'm the "director" which takes a lot of communicating and planning. But the people I work with have work with me before and know what to expect and are also super helpful. It's like the book I presented about --- I've gotten the right people on the bus! (Good to Great by Jim Collins)
In other news, Audrey is attending Arcadia Presbyterian's VBS this week with Evelyn. After the first day, she said it was boring. :( She wanted more play time. But Jeff picked her up yesterday and she was going on and on about the fun she had! I usually call during my class and talk to Jeff & Audrey but yesterday, Audrey was too busy singing and dancing to the VBS songs with Evelyn! I didn't mind because I was so happy she had more fun.
