What a great VBS week! The energy was high all week long and I am so thankful for the group of volunteers we had who really took ownership and rocked their stations. We were also blessed with a GREAT group of kids. We will be showcasing our Theme Song at church on Sunday followed by a BBQ potluck for the families to get to know each other and ( Read more... )

Today was probably the least stressful day for me at VBS. The technology was working great, I got the "Spotlight VBS" slideshow done in record time, and everything ran very smoothly. Well, I was thrown for another loop this morning. My car was in the shop getting fixed (turned out it was a faulty alternator - terrific.) so that wasn't on my mind. Today began very badly for me.... Yesterday my battery light came on. If you'll recall, just about a month ago, my car broke down and was towed to a AAA recommended repair shop. They replaced the battery and alternator and it cost me quite a bit. You can imagine my intense annoyance when I saw that light blink on yesterday as I drove to pick up ( Read more... )

Considering that today was the first day, I had a lot of fun! We have a great group of volunteers helping out this year, including Janet, Dave, and Becca - my own in-laws! Plus, a lot of youth volunteering and stepping up to lead the group in worship movements, performing skits, and interacting with the kids in their rotation stations! And best of ( Read more... )
