Today, it is foggy, frosty, and otherwise a curl-up-and-read-beside-a-fireplace-with-a-cup-of-tea kind of day outside:

Yesterday was lovely -- I had the best ride I think I've ever had on Ella. We had an honest to goodness change of bend across the diagonal. No sudden falling to one side or the other, or shooshing towards the center or general 'huh'-ness... it was glorious! Plus, she was focused, forward, and tried really hard to please. I had a fantastic ride, and so much fun. It's so rewarding to see her improve. Last year at this time I needed two people to bridle her, and she couldn't hardly canter on the lunge. Now she can do baby leg yields, stretch a bit, circles, WTC under saddle (we'll just say the right lead is coming along very well... not quite finished yet!). Whitney should be a proud mama! Watch out saddle-club shows this year, we're headed your way! (showmanship at least!)
To counteract the gloominess outside, I took a bright colorful photo of my favorite plant at work. It's a crazy flower that opens up backwards, sort of like it's going down a big rollercoaster. That being said, it's lovely!

And because a few of you have asked, here is a picture of my lovely engagement ring!

Okay, back to work for me! Love!
