Summary: Yunho's being a pathetic lovesick idiot, so he needs a little push in the right direction.
Just like any other morning, he woke up with a groan. Stretching a hand, he smacked his alarm clock to make the annoying device stop its beeping. Last night he had stayed up until late and now he really didn’t feel like leaving the warm cocoon of his bed. Sleep was still heavy on his eyes and he had a hard time opening them.
When he finally did, he almost screamed and jumped up to a sitting position in his bed. There lаying next to him was a girl he didn’t even know. She was looking at him curiously or more like was staring at him.
Suddenly his room’s door burst open and his mom’s head showed up.
“JaeJoong-ah, is everything okay? I think I heard you scream.” She didn’t even spare a look at the girl lying on her son’s bed.
And then it hit him. His mom just couldn’t see her.
“Everything’s okay, mom. I just had a bad dream. That’s all.” He answered, while completely ignoring the other person in his room.
The girl didn’t seem to be content with the situation though, so she tried to catch his attention again by tugging at his hand. Luckily, he has had his share of those kinds of situations, so he didn’t let his arm move even an inch under her ministrations.
“Was it about that? I thought you stopped having those kind of dreams…it’s been 9 years already.” Uh oh. Now his mother definitely looked worried.
“No, mom. It was just a stupid dream about zombies and ghosts. I think it’s because of the movie we watched with Yoochun last night. Nothing to do with reality, so don’t worry.” He smiled with ease, years of practice making lying to his own mother a piece of cake.
Only when his mother closed his bedroom door and continued with her morning routine he allowed a sigh to escape his lips. JaeJoong felt a headache coming over and rubbed his temples for a while before finally facing the girl who was now sitting in the chair next to his bed.
“What do you want from me?” He spoke in a low voice as not to alarm his mother who was probably in the room next to his.
The girl looked him in the eye and just smiled. Now that he was examining her face, she did seem a bit familiar. Just…he couldn’t pick where he had met her before…
Yunho had known his preferences since he was 13. And by the age of 16 he had come to terms with that. At first, it had been hard and he had felt depressed for weeks. But then he decided for once to be more optimistic. Feeling attraction to both genders just meant that he had a wider range to choose from.
And it was with that kind of mind that Yunho entered high school. Well, he also hoped to finally fall in love. However, he didn’t expect it to happen exactly on the first day of school. Actually he didn’t believe in love at first sight at all, but that was what happened to him. And he could swear that he wasn’t the only one. Because just the mere presence of the student in the school’s corridors made people turn their heads after him.
Yunho was thankful that he didn’t take any classes with his crush, because he was sure as hell that he would have failed them all. For Yunho couldn’t take his eyes off the other when he chanced to spot him in the crowd in the corridors, at lunch it the cafeteria or just standing with his friends in the school yard. When the other was in his range of view everything else in the world stopped to exist for Yunho.
Yunho never thought of himself as a coward, but he had to admit that he was one. Because in those first weeks he never even got somewhere close to the other student. He didn’t even get to learn the other’s name, not to mention the fact that it took him two weeks to decide on the other’s gender.
Yunho thought that he was pathetic. Tiffany thought the same.
“You know, Yun… it was pretty obvious to me that your crush is a boy. Gosh, for staring at him for so long one would think that you’d notice that much.”
Yunho pouted further. “How was I supposed to know? His face is too beautiful to belong to a guy…”
“Yeah, but he wears a male’s uniform, his shoulders are broader than yours and his chest is as flat as a board.” Tiffany helpfully added. “Plus, there are a lot of other good-looking boys and girls at this school, you know?”
Yunho just absentmindedly nodded. It was obvious that he was once again lost in his daydreams about the pretty boy. Tiffany sighed in exasperation. It was obvious that her best friend wasn’t listening to her once again.
She kicked Yunho in the shin. Now, that got his attention.
“You are just pathetic, Yunho. It’s been half a year and you haven’t even said one word to this JaeJoong guy. He probably doesn’t even know that you exist.”
“And what am I supposed to tell him? Hey, I saw you on the first day of school and I fell for you. I just decided to tell you…you know, to see if you also have the hots for other guys.” It was obvious that this was a touchy subject to him.
“You know I didn’t mean that. But you could just try to get closer to him… You just need to ask Changmin to introduce you to his circle of friends and get you to sit with them at lunch…”
“I can’t do that, Tiff… It would mean that I’ll have to leave you alone at lunch…”
She was truthfully happy that Yunho cared about her, although she didn't let it show on her face.
“Pfft. The better for me. It’s really annoying how everyone thinks that we are a couple, just because we are always together. Because of you, I have no chance to find myself some cool guy to make out with.”
“Yah…” Yunho tried to hit her on the hand, but Tiffany was faster. She just laughed at him before running towards the school building and leaving him standing there.

A/N: I finally wrote the first chapter. (Although it's rather short, but it just felt right to cut it there.) This came amazingly easy to me. I hope everyone enjoyed reading the beginning of this story. :) (It's my first chaptered one ^^)
