Hail

Apr 10, 2008 08:50

We had ourselves an amazing little hailstorm last night in the midst of storm weather. Actually, it was the leading edge of the storm that brought the hail. I was inside the station on the air and had the urge to raise my voice above the din of the hail beating so hard on the building. We don't have a tin roof, but we do have some metal awnings and such. I'm sure I didn't really need to raise my voice, but I felt as if I did.
I ended up with a pocket full of change in that quick 30 seconds. The callers reported hail the size of dimes, nickels, quarters and half dollars.
Apparently, Sara Jane didn't care for the hail sound back at home. During a subsequent storm somewhere in the night, she jumped on me when the thunder cracked especially loud. We held hands/paws until I went to sleep.
Preston came home this morning after spending the night doing heroic engineer tricks to keep everyone on the air.
