Saturday Afternoon Chattiness

Sarah finally got on the couch and finds it very comfy, judging by the quickness she laid down and shut her eyes. I think she got up and went back to the couch in the middle of the night once she realized it wasn't off limits. I loudly corrected her from the notion that she was going to eat a throw pillow the day the couch arrived. Since then she's tried to ignore it until last night. Sissy uses it only as a vehicle to other locations. She hasn't found a comfy spot yet, apparently.
I finally got to loll about on the couch in excess last night, finding all the right spots sitting, half laying, and finally laying out full. Yes.
I was highly dismayed two days ago to discover Robert Jordan (fantasy writer of the Wheel of Time series) died. I knew he had a rare, incurable blood disease, but I didn't know he died last September! I was thoroughly embarrassed that I didn't notice. By December 2007, his editor/wife, Harriet had chosen a writer to complete his final book to finish the series. I didn't put his name here because I can't rememeber it, and I've never heard of him. I do plan to research this more. I felt very strange (guilty) about not really knowing this fellow, and feeling more sorry for me that I may not get to read a "true" Jordan book as a finale to his long, long, OMG long series.
Later this month, Preston I host our first dinner of the newly formed birthday club. I blatantly stole this idea from Gunhilda and Wolfgrrrrl. I purposely chose two couples who Preston and I both knew, but not well. Both of the couples were thrilled, because they say they don't seem to have a social life outside of work and church. I haven't worked out my dinner plans yet, but they will include an after dinner board game.
