Wake Me Up When September Begins

Is it really the last day of September already? How did that happen? I swear, time passes oddly at this job. Well, first of all, living the life of a "normal" person and not a student makes all time seem the same. There's no ending of terms, finals to take, new classes to begin... each day is pretty much the same as the last, week after week, month after month, etc. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there are far fewer distinctions in time that way. And second of all, this particular job makes time seem skewed. For example, it is currently September. However, I've mostly been working with CTX data from July and August still, so my brain is still processing things from a couple months ago. And yet, I'm targeting new data to be taken in the month of October already, so I'm worrying about dates and orbits all the way out to October 25th already. So I'm constantly in the past and out into the future, but hardly in the present here at work. I had hardly even noticed that it actually WAS September, and now the month is over already! I guess that's all right -- it still feels like summer, but I do love fall, and perhaps it will begin in earnest soon. And of course, this means that tomorrow is the start of... OCTOBER BASEBALL!!! :) Of which I am happily a participating fan this year. The Dodgers better give the Cubs a run for their money, that's all I'm sayin'. :)
