Post Nashi 500
Well, first things first: We WON!!!!
The other teams were no match for my driving skills and my teams knowledge of Yamanashi. Better luck next time!! Hehe, no seriously, everyone had a great day. The weather was fantastic and there were no injuries or arrests. We started the morning with a list of 12 clues to places in the ken. My team got to 8 of them, two of them were quite far away, too. Here's us at our first stop:
In the afternoon, we had a list of 40 or so scavenger hunt type activities. I think we got about 25 of them done. To give you some examples: Take a swim in Motosuko, hug an old lady, set off fireworks, etc. All activities had to have video or photographic proof. You can see some of the things we did on flickr. Here's one:
This was: Claim a historical landmark in the name of France.
Oh, by the way, if you haven't figured out our team theme yet, we were Mystery, Inc. The characters from Scooby Doo, complete with Scrappy. Anyway, we had to be down in Minobu at 6pm, and we were one of only two teams to make it, traffic was pretty bad. We had a party with cheap beer and appetizers and Sachi tallied up our points. We won first place, the prize was two bottles of champagne. Good times. I wish they had started this new tradition last year. Most of us won't be here next year to defend our title!
