up late and freaking out

My little sis is in Emergency at the Alfred Hospital. She was jumping on the sofa and landed on a metal knitting needle, which went 20cms into her back. They're apparently waiting on a CT scan to see if it hit any vital organs - kidneys, bowel etc. According to the docs, it's 'highly unlikely' that any object which penetrates to a depth of 20cms would not have damaged at least the odd organ or blood vessel - the area is just too crowded with important stuff.

Someone get Chase. We might need his supreme surgical skills.

So, I'm staying up late, mildly freaking, wondering to myself if donating a kidney to my sis will get me out of buying a lifetime's worth of future birthday and Christmas presents, and waiting to hear more.

Also listening to Mama Monster to keep me sane.
