Yesterday Dad and I saw an experimental film called North of South, East of West. There were 20 swivel chairs on castors for the audience and four screens around the room for the movie. Each screen was dedicated to a main character. When the characters interacted there screens would either be the same or different views of the same shot. After a bit you figure out that the main action is on the screen with the loudest soundtrack and you don't have to swivel as much.
All of the main characters are completely hopeless losers, and as the action proceeds they make bigger and bigger messes of their lives. Just as the climax of bad luck and decisions hits, the film abruptly ends with no resolution of any story line. That pissed me off but Dad loved it. Then again, he's the one that brought home A Cry in the Dark to watch on Christmas Eve...
After we had desserts with his buddies. They are a really nice bunch. We will also have dinner with them tomorrow. Park City certainly seems to offer Dad a good social life!
