Sundance Report #3
I have now attended three shorts progams plus the super amazing In a World. The shorts ranged from awesome (Record/Play) to dear God why? Even the animated shorts can be gruesome and/or pointless. Saw a couple today that were a bit uncomfortable with your Dad sitting in the next seat, but that's the problem with shorts - you never know what's coming.
In a World was about the daughter of a voice over star trying to follow in her father's footsteps only he discourages her at every turn. The family and the industry are very disfunctional and emotionally grueling. It was also a very, very, funny movie. Last night was the second time it had ever been shown and it doesn't have distribution yet, but I feel sure it will soon.
