Hi! This is an old magazine crosstalk, but I've been wanting to translate this for a long time. I just couldn't find enough free time last year, but now I have a lot of free time and decided to finally translate this. :)
The conversation starts off with Inoo mentioning how hot it was everyday, and I laughed because that's exactly what I feel right now in this weather. I really enjoyed reading this even if their topics were kind of normal. But it makes me appreciate that we can also get a bit of a sneak peak into our idols' lives behind the camera.
I hope you enjoy reading! :)
The household frozen drink is very delicious!
Inoo: It’s so hot every day! I make this frozen drink from a certain coffee shop and drink it almost every day! It’s so delicious!
Hikaru: Oh~ That sounds good.
Inoo: I received it originally as a gift. At first, I thought it wouldn’t be that delicious, but it has a crispy texture and is very easy to make.
Yabu: I want that too. Are there varieties of flavors too?
Inoo: Yup. I recommend the matcha flavored frozen drink. Its deliciousness is a discovery!
Hikaru: Speaking of hot, I use a pillow covered with a cooling pillowcase.
Yabu: Does it feel good?
Hikaru: Yup. But surprisingly, the towel part at the back side of the pillowcase feels better. (laughs)
Inoo: That happens. Do you turn it over as well while sleeping?
Hikaru: Rather, maybe I mainly use the towel side. (laughs) Although its original way of using is different. That’s my everyday life little discovery.
Yabu: I see~ I’ve been sleeping while leaving my aircon turned on, but it was a nice discovery to find out that the electricity bill didn’t increase as much as I thought it would.
Hikaru: Surprisingly, it (electricity bill) doesn’t rapidly increase that much even if you think it would be really expensive this month.
Yabu: Yeah. Just when I thought my electricity bill would be twice as usual, it increased just a little.
Inoo: I heard that the electricity bill would cost higher if you repeatedly turn it on and off.
Yabu: It seems so. Do both of you use aircon when you go to sleep?
Hikaru: Yup, but I don’t have it turned on until the morning. I set the timer for 2 hours.
Inoo: I use the electric fan at night.
Yabu: Recently, there’s a lot of high performing electric fans.
Inoo: It’s normally cool. Even if I turn on the air conditioner, I set it to “dry” instead of “air condition.” What does dry even mean? Honestly, I don’t get it too. (laughs) Surprisingly, electric fans are good.
Yabu: I set my aircon to “dry” sometimes too, even if I don’t know how it works. (laughs)
Hikaru: The point is dehumidifying makes it feel cooler, right?
Yabu: Maybe. Somehow, I usually set my aircon to “dry” during the night. Moreover, I use the aircon in my living room instead of the one in my bedroom. It makes the best air flow because the wind is neither too strong nor too weak.
Both of you should live together with me for 1 month!
Hikaru: Do you have a request that you want the members to grant?
Yabu: We talked about the comfortable condition of aircon just now, but I can’t fall asleep easily. (laughs)
Inoo: Eh! Why?
Yabu: This is a different story. It takes 1 to 2 hours for me to fall asleep after I close my eyes.
Hikaru: Then, I’ll talk with you on the phone until you fall asleep.
Yabu: Hikaru is so cool! Thank you very much ~ (laughs)
Hikaru: I’ll call you every night. I’ll talk with you until I hear you snore.
Inoo: No, no. If you call him, he won’t be able to sleep, right? (laughs)
Yabu: That’s true. Maybe I’ll be more awake. (laughs)
Inoo: Even if you fall asleep, the fact that Hikaru is confirming whether you’re snoring or not is suspicious!
Hikaru: WAHAHAHAHA! Actually.
Yabu: Recently, the water dispenser at home is troublesome. Replacing the water container when the water runs out is heavy. It seems like I’m going to strain my back. What should I do?
Inoo: Cancel [the contract]! Immediately.
Hikaru: Cancel it, then how about changing to hydrogen water dispenser?
Yabu: Hydrogen water seems good for the body.
Inoo: If you think about how good it is for your body, won’t you be able to do your best more in changing the container than when you were replacing just ordinary water?
Yabu: Hmm, I’ll consult with my back. (laughs) What about the two of you, how are things going?
Hikaru: I lost the keys to my bicycle. Even the spare key… Help me out!
Inoo: That’s quite a difficult request. (laughs) Alright! Let’s call a locksmith!
Yabu: Your bicycle is still locked, right?
Hikaru: Yup. That’s why if I don’t unlock it, I can’t move it anywhere. I probably lost my key around the house… Would it be better if I just leave my bicycle in the house and make it as an interior decoration? (laughs)
Inoo: Use it as a normal decoration huh.
Hikaru: Yup. Oh and I want Yabu to teach me soccer. I watched the World Cup again and thought that I’d like to know more about soccer in detail, but I don’t know where to start.
Inoo: Me too~ I had the chance to watch the World Cup and thought it was surprisingly interesting. But I’m still a newbie fan. (laughs) It’ll be the same request as Hikaru’s, but I want Yabu to teach me about soccer.
Yabu: Both of you should live together with me for 1 month! I’ll teach you guys all about the charms of soccer.
Hikaru: Okay, I’ll go to your house.
Yabu: I won’t be able to sleep though. (laughs) I’ll show you guys the Soccer CS Channel that I’m subscribed to.
Hikaru: Wow!
Inoo: If it’s for a few days, I’ll try going. I might understand just how much of Yabu’s life is about soccer.
Yabu: Sometimes I close my eyes for a while and just listen to the sound. It’s fun to guess who the commentator is just by listening to his voice. I often think like, “Ah today’s commentator is ______-san” or “as expected, ______-san is so accurate!”
Hikaru: I don’t think I can reach that level. (laughs)
I gave a light as a gift during the “Bara to Hakuchou (Rose and Swan)” stage play
Inoo: What are your lights like at home?
Yabu: Mine has an orange-like light. It has a bit of warmth.
Hikaru: My lights at home are relatively bright, but I adjust the color and brightness using a remote control depending on my mood. I have 3 sphere-shaped lights that float on water in my bathtub.
Yabu: Do you turn off the lights in the bathroom itself?
Hikaru: Yup. I am healed by how the sphere-shaped lights change colors.
Inoo: My light at home was recommended by Takaki. The color of the light can change depending on the rhythm of the music. The lights are colorful, so it (his room) becomes like a club.
Hikaru: By the way, when Inochan came to watch our stage play, you gave Takaki a light as a gift, right?
Inoo: Yup. It’s a book-shaped light. When you open it, the page inside lights up. I decided on that because his role in the stage play was Shakespeare, who is an author.
Yabu: What about Hikaru?
Hikaru: I received a rose-shaped diffuser.
Inoo: I gave that because the stage play’s title has “rose” on it.
Hikaru: It smells so good~ I use it in my toilet~
Note: Japanese and English are not my native language, so it might not be 100% accurate.
