My great aunt Jean passed away this morning. Everyone was pretty much prepared for it. I'm a bit envious that my mother got to see her before she passed. It's unfortunately been a few years since I've had the pleasure.

Brazil was great. Even after having been it still seems a bit surreal. If that even makes sense? I believe everyone on my lj friend's list is on facebook, so you've probably seen some of the pictures already. I still don't quite believe it yet, but I will be flying out of Savannah tomorrow afternoon at 3:45pm. After a 2 hour flight, a 4 hour lay-over in Newark and a nearly 10 hour flight I will be in Sao Paulo, Brazil ( Read more... )

My passport has arrived! And it only took two weeks, which is quite amazing. It seems as though the reality of the trip is sinking in a bit more every day. So, we had a meeting last night. It's set in stone, a group of 10 (along with 3 profs) of us are heading to Brazil in June for a three-week study abroad. It's still a little surreal. I know that I deserve so much better. I'm just concerned that nothing better is ever going to come along, so I've settled and in the process have hurt myself more than I'd like to admit. It's a vicious cycle that I'm not sure I'm strong enough to break.
