Why does LJ bother beta testing things if people are going to say they hate them almost without exception and then they'll activate it for everyone anyway?

Speaking as someone who will never use this feature, does not want their personal journal on it, but wouldn't mind having their writing and RP journals on it...

So. I just handed in my first English essay. I think I did okay, which was all I was really going for. My English class is so boring my only real goal is to pass before I lapse into a coma.
