Hi all,
Apologies for not getting this up sooner but the past few days have been a little nuts.
Last Thursday I arrived in Sydney after a relatively painless 18 hour flight. About 4 of those hours were spent flying from Chicago to LA (not so painless, as our airlines suck) and the remainder was spent snoozing through the vast majority of the 13 hour flight from LA to Sydney. We had a great view of Sydney coming in; I could clearly see the infamous opera house and harbor bridge.
Jet lag was minimal thank God. That always seems to be the case though when I'm GOING to a place as opposed to returning from it. Anywho. Caught a shuttle to the hostel, got settled in, quickly realized I was blessed to have a bunch of most excellent roommates (a brother and sister from Ireland and a young couple from England), all of whom I spent boogeying boarding this past Saturday with. Good times :) Other notable ventures thus far have been a walk through the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens, a visit to the aquarium, and the Wildlife World (which I may be working at part time rather shortly). There's plenty more to elaborate on later but that's the jist of it so far.
I started my freelance gig today at Creata and so far everything's been great. They're giving me a weeks worth of work and I've made it abundantly clear to them I want more so hopefully something very concrete will pan out here soon. In the meantime though it's off to find an apartment.
Hope all is well with everyone back home and I shall post again soon!
