Character Information

General
Canon Source: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Canon Format: Game
Character's Name: Master Eraqus
Character's Age: Early 50’s (Like 52)

What form will your character's NV take? A plain black LG Optimus-like phone but with his crest in silver.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Eraqus is capable of summoning his Keyblade which grants him the ability to unlock anything which includes doors, Hearts and the paths to other worlds. These abilities will obviously be far more mild in-game. The Keyblade is a sentient weapon so if anyone were to try to take it from Eraqus, it would vanish from their grip and reappear in his own hand.

Otherwise, Eraqus has mastery over all magic’s except Darkness which he, obviously, has an aversion too. A lot of his fighting is Light-based and can even perform a quick move which seems like his opponent is being struck by several Keyblades at once. Eraqus, while he never shows it, has access to Keyblade Armor which both protects his Heart from Darkness and protects him against attacks as armor should. He is also capable of transforming his Keyblade in to a Glider but it is never shown due to his position as protector of the Land of Departure.

Eraqus can sense the Hearts of those around him, can sense whether their Hearts are full of Light, Darkness, balanced or which way their Heart leans. And, as seen during the exam, he is able to summon orbs of pure Light. When in battle, Eraqus can summon gold, glowing, chains of Light from his Keyblade that can be used to attack his opponents (with what appears to be either arrows or something like them on the ends of the chains), tie them up, or trap them in an ball of chains while he attacks.

Weapons: Eraqus' Keyblade, a legendary weapon that is particular about it's wielder. It is used similarly to a sword, is particularly effective against Unversed, Heartless and Nobodies, and capable of opening any lock, sealing any lock, locking the Keyhole of a World so Darkness cannot get to the World's Heart and is able to unlock a Heart or sever the Darkness or Light from a Heart.

Magic can be channeled through a Keyblade (but is by no means necessary for effectively casting spells), which gives the wielder the advantage of aiming the spell and being able to cast a spell without surrendering a means of defending themselves. Keybearers can still use magic even when not using the Keyblade.

While never shown, Eraqus is capable of changing his Keyblade into a Glider. It's a skill that is taught to Terra, Aqua and Ventus so that implies he is capable of it. A Keyblade Glider is, simply, a vehicle formed out of a Keyblade which is used to travel through the Lanes Between to other Worlds. Though it is often shown that the Glider can be used in any given situation providing the Bearer deems it necessary.

Keyblade's forms can also be changed by switching the Keychain on a Keyblade but in Eraqus' case, it will never be changed.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Wiki
Point in Canon: When he’s wounded from fighting Terra, before Xehanort kills him

Character Personality:

Strong-hearted and wise (by no means beyond his years), Eraqus treats all three of his apprentices as if they were his own children. He trains with them often, making sure they’ll skills reflect what they are capable of and nothing less. This may make him seem strict, which is not untrue, but he does care deeply about them and wants them to meet their potential. He won’t deny the opportunity to take on an apprentice, believing it to be his utmost duty to train Keybearers: even after the falling out he and Xehanort experienced, he still took in Ventus as an apprentice.

A strong believer in Light, he teaches his students that fighting the Darkness is the best way to maintain the balance of the Worlds. He is in constant reminder of this with the scars Xehanort’s Dark attack left on his face and the fact that his home is on the border before the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness.

He tends to be sensitive to betrayal, having experienced it first hand with both his apprentice and his closest friend, Xehanort as well as several other times throughout his life. Eraqus, however, does not hold grudges. Evidence of this is, despite the fight he and Xehanort had years earlier, he invited Xehanort to the Mark of Master Exam that Terra and Aqua were undergoing. He’s good-natured, caring and though he smiles rarely, that does not mean he never does.

Eraqus tends to deal with absolutes. He believes it is the duty of every Keyblade Wielder to destroy the Darkness using their Light. This is something he's partially ingrained into his apprentices. The precepts of their Order are not to be disobeyed or challenged, in his opinion, which lead to the conflict between himself and Xehanort. And when the possibility of the X-Blade being forged comes to his attention, he can tend to be rash and will choose the quickest and most permanent route to keep that from happening.

Character Plans:

Initially, Eraqus will be focused on healing and finding his apprentices.

Prior to arriving, Eraqus will have been awaiting the return of his apprentices. When Ventus returns angry, he discovers Xehanort's intentions to forge χ-Blade and Ventus' purpose in that. Upset, and recalling the last encounter her and Xehanort shared regarding the Keyblade war and the χ-Blade, Eraqus makes the decision to end Ventus' life in order to protect the Worlds. Before he can however, Terra intervenes and the two clash. Using the power of Darkness, Terra is able to overcome his Master and leave him seriously injured. Shortly before Xehanort makes the fatal blow, Eraqus is Pulled by the Core.

[Eraqus had hardly moved since arriving. The nausea passed quickly but for the older man, he'd hardly noticed that he felt nauseous in the first place. Why? Prior to arriving, he'd fought with Terra and the battle had left him injured and weary and he was unsure of whether he had the strength to effectively cast Curaga. Perhaps Cure. Cura would be pushing his luck.

He'd not yet spoken with the Greeter and likely, there was little that could be done for him at that particular moment. In truth, his condition was more serious than he'd like to admit but he was alive and he'd stay that way. Reaching forward to grip the NV, Eraqus debates for a moment whether he should attempt to contact anyone.

Several minutes later, he casts Cura and moves so he is more comfortable. His muscles still ache, and he'll need rest but all in all, he's in much better shape than he had been. He merely had to wait until he'd worked up enough energy to cast the spell.

He activates the video on his NV.]

Good day, my name is Eraqus and I arrived a short while ago. If at all possible, I would ask for any information regarding where I have found myself and if anyone has seen three youths by the names: Terra, Aqua or Ventus.

Siren's Port was... Nothing like the worlds he had once visited in his youth. In fact, to claim it was at all like the worlds he had seen would be an exaggeration. It seemed that in this place time was completely without purpose except to keep track of when you worked or how long you had been here. Darkness reigned after the sirens, something Eraqus was most uncomfortable with, and death was not permanent. While that was something of a curiosity, he had to wonder if those who died and came back suffered any sort of change, mild or otherwise.

He couldn't deny some amount of distaste in the situation. He had his duties in the Land of Departure but while here, he would make the best of the situation. He assumed finding a job shouldn't be to difficult, and regardless of whether it was or wasn't, he'd still find one. The Tower Apartments was a place to stay, until he found somewhere more comfortable and sensible and he'd make sure to keep track of events around Siren's Port. Likely, he'd find himself outside in the Darkness from time to time, if anyone required his assistance.

The Port had it's redeeming qualities at least. Eraqus saw that there were schools, businesses run by Newcomers and there were Greeters at the baseball diamond all the time. There was a news report everyday so at least no one went uninformed. Nobody was required to join either SERO or Afterglow but that option seemed to be open. Eraqus wouldn't be joining either, he'd yet to decide what to make of them and having all available information was important.

All in all, Eraqus was confident that he'd be able to survive while here. Even continue his duties as a Keybearer, with some caution. With as many residents as there seemed to be, he had to be wary of how much anyone learned about their Order.
