The Sweetest Nightmare (Poem)

Aug 29, 2008 13:52

I started to fall under the dream of something that never existed,
Even though I don't think you ever believed me,
Not even from the beginning,
As I twisted through the pages of reality.
Your tranquility is a lie,
And this open wound is gnawing me from the inside.
I don't know where it came from.
It just appeared one day.
And didn't leave.
A leech on my soul...
Cage, latching onto my mind,
And I'll fly away into a whirlwind of the night,
Twilight falling against my skin.
Let the night come and claim me.
I will grow wings,
I will be something that you have never seen.
And you won't know me,
You have never known me...
I am invisible,
Beyond recognition,
And the bruise will heal as I crawl back into the dark...
