This past weekend, I flew with David and Sasha to Baltimore. We turned out to be quite well matched flying partners as Sasha prefers the window seat, David prefers the aisle, and I'm quite content to be in the middle of people I know.

At IKEA, I found a pretty little (body the size of a beanie baby, with proportionate legs) spider with black legs and a green body. When I saw it I immediately knew that there was only one person who could truely appreciate it in all its spidery goodness - Jen!

I didn't get to bed until around 1:00 AM this morning. On the plus side, it was because I got to see historicstitchr last night. She grilled up some wonderful fish for dinner, and after sending her little boy off to bed, we chatted and watched Pirates of the Carribean. Things I don't understand:

Why can I be full after eating only three pieces of nigiri, but I can still polish off an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting?

New things learned:

1. What "cantering on the wrong lead" means.
2. It takes 10 miles for me to send a text message saying I'm 20 miles from a destination.

New thing learned:

1. Horses are dirty. This probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone but me. I've never had my hand turn black from petting a dog or cat. Why would I expect differently with a horse?
2. There's a lot of time spent waiting around chatting with people. At least, if you are not someone skilled with horses, there is.

Highlights so far:

1. We didn't get lost getting from my house to the hotel.
2. I got to be of use by putting straw down in the stalls for the horses, which was (oddly) fun. Julie did not appreciate it so much when I started tossing it in the air.

1. The hotel where we are staying has extremely poorly trained desk staff.
