Good news on the horizon

Dear Blog,

I'm not sure I can announce, so I'll err on the side of caution. There is good news in regards to a certain graphic novel of mine on the horizon. I am really excited. I had a very good meeting over the weekend.

I'm looking towards 2021 with great excitement. Former student and intern Rowan and I have a bet going for 2021. We both need to have our manuscripts ready for Pitmad in June. We don't have a payoff yet for if someone is not ready, so suggestions are appreciated.

I've been doing a novel for NaNoWriMo that is soooo different from everything else I do. Normally, I'm very plot-driven, not a lot of internal rumination. This book is the opposite. It's part memoir, part supernatural horror. I like to think only the scary parts are true.

I'm about 10,000 words behind on the novel, but I have a lot of time here at the end of the month with Thanksgiving. The goal is to be at 50,000 words (or done!) by the end of November. I think the book will be longer than that. I can't wait to get it to a point I can share some excerpts here.

Meanwhile, I'm contemplating selling my iMac Pro that I've had for a year and getting a new Mac Mini with the M1. I can save a lot of money, and right now will basically be the only point I can get anything for the iMac. The 16GB Mac Mini wouldn't get to me until the end of December, so I think, as long as there's a shipping delay until then, I'll wait a bit to make the decision. My main concern is using After Effects, which I don't do a lot of. Also, going from 128GB of RAM to 16GB, but the way it works it looks like it should be just as fast for my main tasks, Photoshop and Clip Studio.
