Hired!
I have been a bit of a fool.
We have had a sudden influx of grain moths over the past couple of days, they must be coming from the bird food although I usually microwave it to help prevent moth infestations.
So today I look over at "my" cross spider when I get home from work, patiently sitting in the middle of her web. And then I see 6 grain moths sitting on the ceiling, and one lumpy moving whitish thing that is a grain moth caterpillar crawling across the ceiling.
I shout out to the spider, "We need you! You're hired!!" I think fair terms are free room and free board, just as long as you can catch it! Guaranteed no birds will eat you, and our cats will not notice you (truly, they pay no attention to the tarantulas in their cages, although they used to! ;)
I think that is fair deal for our spider, don't you? We really need each other, particular I need her!! ;)
(And I told Sally I had hired a spider and much to my surprise she said "Oh, you mean the one next to the clock?" And I thought she would not notice, fool me! But she does not mind, and that is a long way from where she used to be! :)
