Cicadas!
I heard my first cicada yesterday! :)
I notice they usually arrive around the middle of July, and I was pretty much spot on this year!
Having seen how prevalent they are as the good-luck cigale symbol of Provenance, France on our April trip to Nice, I was especially happy to hear the first of these big bumbling bugs this year! ;)
And I noticed last week that there is a big Cicada killer wasp hanging around the book drop off at the public library. So today when I returned a book and she sort of buzzed me, I told her that there are now cicadas in the neighborhood! She landed and appeared to take that under advisement! ;)
