I and the family survived without much mishap.  A tree down across the 'rent's driveway that broke up on impact was easily moved over.  No flooding, no power loss.  There was an interesting ride from the 'rents to Speck-on-a-Map.  Gotta love the Versa with 65 MPH cross winds.  Kat and I spent about 48 hours checking in on each other and each other's parents.  She's fine, site's fine.  Her parent's farm is fine but the road that connects the house to the main highway is completely out.  I don't know that there's another way off the farm until the road's rebuilt.  There's some before and after ocean photos on google+ and FaceBook.

In case you didn't catch my excitement, Cousin Roger and Leslie had their baby.  His name is Ethan Cameron, was born on Wednesday afternoon and weighed in at 8lbs 2 oz.  I got to see them on Saturday and Ethan spent a couple hours sleeping on my chest.  I'm officially Aunt Marlene.  As I may have mentioned (I don't recall in my excitement), both Roger and Leslie are only children and neither @ nor I think we're going to have kids. so therefore I've been named aunt.  I like this title. :-)  I think it means I get to spoil him more.

In other notes, I had my last appointment with the dentist for anything other than cleanings.  Yay!!  Of course this means the entire right side of my mouth feels like it's been used as a pin cushin.  Perhaps because it has?

Faire for the long weekend.  I think I get to actually get out of the booth this time.  Ok, I am getting out of the booth this weekend.  I've been waiting, hoping that it was going to be more than just Kat and I, but since that's not going to happen I'll just take advantage of the slow morning or afternoon.  There's a couple shops I want to see and this will be my last chance.

Then the cape, the family reunion and then starts CTRF.  I'm sure there'll be plenty of posts between now and then.

weather, potted fox, teeth, travel, weekend update
