I was gonna be all jovial and boast that 3 days into my half-a-month off holiday, I'm enjoying myself, but then I got a message from Lex that she's just been assaulted and spat on at work, and it's kinda put a downer on my night. For those who know how much myself and my brother hate womanbeaters, you can understand how, if I haven't been drinking at home since 3 (ah, the good life, some might say....), I might have teared around to the YMCA a little quicker than I legally can at the mo. Goondolences, Lex.
Same to you, Spike - I still miss our dog (gemma, collie-labador cross, black, got cancer in her liver) and it was 2 1/2 years ago. Every time I came back from the pub drunk in Hereford or when I came back to visit, she and her big bum was the first to greet me). What we did was to make sure the vet separated her ashes (costed a little bit extra, but not too much) from the 'communial ashpile', put in a clay vial, buried her in our back garden and planted a tree on top of her. Better than a crummy cross or marble. Of course, it's your family's choice, but that's what I would recommend.
Other than these two things that have cropped up in the last 6 hours (and Damian's constant umemployed statuts, but I imagine he would be the first to say it was a bit of an improvement compared to before), things have been going fien for me. I eevn spent some money on a new Zoom pedal for me shred attack - it's frustrating to get the perfect sound when you have over 100 to choose from, but fun all the same.
As for Chrimbo - Hereford for us until next Sat, then Nottingham. Obviously, Chrimbo is out for any orthen socialising, but from Sat the 29th, if anyone who I haven't pissed off wants a drink with me and Linda, it's open to offer.
As for NYE, I ( I don't know about Linda yet) am planning to go on a 'Party Grand Tour'. The good news for people is that I'll be sober for it. Hell, no doubt I'll be dragging my external HD with me for shits and giggles too.
As far as I know, there's 3 parties going that night: Reena's (A small gathering from what I heard), Kristy's (if me and Linda are invited, of course - no cake, I promise ;) ) and Nick's (if his LJ is to believed and if he can put up with a better DJ in his place ;) ). If anyone else has plans, let me know - I might even bring the new Alvin & The Chipmunk's film over for you. ;)
Either way, it should be fun for me, hopefully.
