I've been one tired little butterfly lately. I think all the lack of sleep is now catching up to me. I don't have to wake up after several hours of sleep to pick the kids up from school anymore so now my body is like "YEA SLEEP!" and I've been sleeping for 10 to 12 hours straight for the last several days. Of course it doesn't help that I sometimes forget to take my iron pills, I probably don't eat enough and my body has to still repair itself after all the work I do at the "big blue box store".
Sleep, wake, eat, shower, work, Ugh, my life is boring! The only highlight is we're planning on going to the beach this summer. Great Gods I hope we can! Otherwise what am I working for? Oh yea, to get out of the house and among real people. It has helped with that but I'm still not very talkative others. I'm a very quiet person and I think too succinct. Most people like to gab and that's just not an art I've been able to develop. I find it kind of pointless but I guess it's not when you are trying to connect with people. There really should be a book out there "So you've been reclusive and now would like to re-join society" or "Socializing for Dummies". I bet there already is, I wonder if it's on audiobook? I don't have much time for book/internet reading anymore. Yesterday I watched several episodes of the britcom Coupling. OMG that was too funny and now I see why people who work alot watch so much TV, brain function was too low to do much else.
On another front, over the last two week I have discovered I am a total dork! Through the help of my lovely 14yo daughter pointing out all my dorky tendencies. They got me a TMNT shirt for Mother's day and I LOVE it! And if you don't know what TMNT stands for, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, then you are not a part of the world of dorkdom. She listed my love of HP and HP fandom and fanfic and Transformers (I bought a poster for over my computer, I'm so psyched about the new movie!) and cartoons (classic TMNT and others like Animaniacs) and Alternative music from the 70's to today and 80's pop as big reasons. I can't remember the rest. But she assures me it just makes life more interesting than having a normal boring mother. Yeah, whatever. Truly she is very sweet and at least I don't RPG but honestly that's because I don't have the best imagination. I've been raised and trained mostly to be a computer nerd and math is my favorite subject.
Lets see on the work front I got my 3 month evaluation Sunday night even though its about 1/2 a month short. My negatives were I don't have a big sense of urgency and I don't ask for help when I need it. The latter is because I get so focused on my work that I loose track of time but the former is because I'm probably too laid back for them. That is something I didn't know about myself, that I'm laid back but honestly I'm not going to stress myself out over such a dumb job. I'm not looking at becoming a manager of anykind there at all! I value my time off and their stress levels are too high for me! It would probably drive me more crazy than staying at home alone. So I could add a comment/goal at the end so I put I would like to earn a pharmacy tech certificate and work as a pharm tech eventually. Which is what I've settled for. I think I'll work this job for awhile first though, let my kids get a little older, get med insurance and straighten out my crazy body and then go to tech school while working part time there. It's something at least. I'm not going to stock the store forever and tech school doesn't nearly take as long as college. Then after I get my 2+ years of experience I can quit and get a better paying/benefits job at CVS or one of the other pharmacies. They gave me the standard 40 cent raise, no one gets the 60cent maximum, and now I won't get another one but every year and probably the same 40 cents. That sucks! Why would I want to work for someone year after year and only get a 40 cent raise once a year? Fortunately for some odd reason they gave me a very high starting pay so I'm not complaining at my total rate of pay but I'm not going to work for them forever.
Its a nice starter job with decent perks. I should get a bonus next paycheck and I found some jeans for $5 the other night! I saved like $37 on 3 pairs of jeans! There were some other discounted things I missed out on though because I ran out of money. I have a discount card for about 10% off most things and I use it often. The only thing is my paycheck has been dissappearing after only a few days! I haven't been able to save anything but I'm still catching up. I gave my daughter $100 because she's helped so much with watching her brother as I've slept and I plan on spending alot more on my husband for Father's day then he did on me. I'm not pointing it out because I'm fussed over it but just to illustrate that my spending is going out of control! I should be able to save a couple of hundred a paycheck but it just isn't happening. Just another thing I need to work on.
And I haven't forgotten about Sexylegs. His legs are still sexy and I'm still fustrated. I'm actually now trying to kind of avoid him. I think my crush has diminished a wee bit.
Well this post is long enough now so I'll sign off and I hope anyone reading this has a really great week with lots of nice surprises and bright blessings!
