Friday: We dropped Simba off at the kitty B&B, and headed off to San Diego International Airport, which was the emptiest I've ever seen it. One of the cool things The Boy and I did on our honeymoon last week was to go whale watching in Monterey Bay. Before the boat left, The Boy mentioned that there were two things he really wanted to see: orcas, and an albatross, neither of which he'd ever seen before. Sure enough, we ended up seeing both. Yesterday I went to the Chena Hot Springs Resort, which is known for, duh, its hot springs. But first I visited its ice museum, which was very cool (in both senses of the word). Went hiking in Pt. Lobos again this morning and finally, after months of trying, managed to get some decent shots of a mama sea otter with a baby. I was beginning to think they were hiding from me on purpose. I also got some shots of a pigeon guillemot, and some kind of duck. I don't know, I'm not an expert on ducks. But they were cute.
