Crafty update
Well, cross-stitch won my crafty poll by a landslide, so I'm giving it a go. I'm starting off with a little bookmark kit, which seems like a good learning project. Naturally, I picked one with a mermaid on it.
This is what it's supposed to look like when it's done:
And this is how far I got in one day:
In retrospect, maybe I shouldn't have started with the hair, as it's the most tricky part. I definitely went off-chart in a couple of places trying to get it done. OTOH, hair is the place where it's easiest to get away with a mistake, right? It's not like I have her nose growing out of her forehead or anything.
