I have the day off today, yay!
With a four-day weekend ahead and no social oligations whatsoever, I've gone into a bit of a baking frenzy. Yesterday I made dough for gingerbread cookies to be chilled overnight, and also baked some creme brulees, but haven't torched them yet -- I'll do that just before I serve them at dinner. This morning I'm baking the gingerbread while my bread dough rises; the bread will become garlic bread tonight to go with the baked ziti we're having for dinner. Later I'm also planning to make sugar cookies and also some chocolate chip cookies, because why not? This is the time of year for cookies, right? I didn't get around to baking for Hanukkah, so I'm making up for it now.
