tonight, i worked on my fish training. my goal is to STOP HATING FISH. i mean, i like fish- i just do not like EATING fish. so, tonight i took haddock and more or less COVERED it with seasonings, and blackened it fast in a pan. then, i put it in a pan on top of some sauteed onions and peppers (hot peppers, too!) and let it steam a little with the lid on. had some black beans and rice on the side, but wished for something different. they were the wrong side dish. the fish, however, was pretty good. it generally holds true that i like almost anything cajun-y, and this was no exception. that is one barrier down. :)
worked out for, like, forever, while watching "the bishops wife". for sure, for sure one of my all-time favorite movies. it just makes me feel all happy and warm fuzzy. cary grant is phenomenal in that movie- it's hard to imagine NOT falling in love with him. khara, if you are reading this, and have not seen that movie, just let me know. i will get it to you. it's probably your favorite movie ever.
hard to imagine why anyone wanted to remake that movie (into "the preachers wife") with someone like WHITNEY HOUSTON. *sigh* oh, hollywood... alas.
today we started finalizing things for our home purchase. i don't know if i had even mentioned that previously. patrick and i are purchasing our first home, and it could be pretty exciting! it's just a little, cinder block house. but, the inside is spacious and well thought-out, it has an awesome back porch, and a two car garage. plus, two spare bedrooms. just in case we decide to nest. otherwise, hey! two guest rooms! come visit!
it's a little scary, though... real grown-up money stuff. nothing fun about it. i am worried, but i am excited! tomorrow i will call and get our homeowners insurance stuff set up, and then we will REALLY be rolling! it is gonna be great! we will be able to stretch out a little, build shelves, paint walls... really make ourselves a home. for those of you who do not know, i haven't really belonged to a home since i was in high school. it's frustrating- everything seems so temporary and the walls are so white. anyway... yeah. no more of that crap. it is not a dream house, but it will be OUR house- and that is great. i will post pictures as soon as i can!
now, sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
