the court of doctor moreau.
by now, most of you know we have moved. momo, patrick, speedy, gus, elwood, fish and myself have moved into our very own house. it has been frustrating and lovely and a million other things, all at the same time.
first, the house tried to kill us... the doors fell off cabinets, the sinks lost water, there was no hot water on one side of the house, and about a zillion other things. we seem to have a lot of things under control now, but need to start working on unpacking some more. we have boxes of dvds in the living room, and the spare room designated "patricks" appears to have had a tornado through it. dreadful! oh my!
to make things even more exciting, we have an... eccentric... neighbor. he has talked to patrick several times, mostly on his opinions on race and his desire to grind up a former neighbor into meat and throw them on our front yard. pretty interesting stuff. he has a bunch of boats in his back yard that have trees growing through them, cars with flat tires on his driveway, and a crazy lawn with overgrown bushes. the is a prevalent smell of natural gas drifting across the court from his yard. weird stuff, for sure.
of course, a million kazillion things have happened since my last update. i went to go see the pogues with james for an early birthday present- one of the best days of my life. had a very not-fun christmas without gifts, but with an awesome dinner. we closed on the house the 30th of december, and had to be out of the old place by the 31st. we moved all night the night of new years eve. new years, therefor, also stunk. but, here i am! our own house! all the animals are very happy, and so am i. at first, it was a little scary to be here by myself. too quiet- too much space. now, though! now i love it! i sleep sooooo happily in my own little house! we planted hibiscus and jasmine and holly bushes. totally awesome!
