Arrrrrrgh.
Anyone out there have ideas on how to get a replacement fan for less than 75 dollars? The best I'm finding is www.notebooksolutions.ca, which has the 60.T72V7.005 (Thermal Unit for the Acer Travelmate 8100) for 55, and shipping either 14 or 20 bucks. Installation will run me 60 bucks if I have Pete at Angeltronics do it (which, for reference, should not be assumed to be a remotely normal fee, rather a disturbingly polite sympathy charge).
So...
Already spent $80 on cleaning + 25 on fan assemblage (although, parts of it will remain useful. Is it worth another 140 to get the machine hopefully fixed?
New laptops these days can go for under 500 :(
