I'm rereading the Warrior trilogy for the first time since... idk, probably 2002 or so. Maybe the 90s. One thing I'm more aware of now is what a sausage fest it is. It turns out that Space Viking by H. Beam Piper, the 1962 novel that is one of the principal inspirations for Traveller, is available online for free courtesy of Project Gutenberg. Way back in my "why I'm an elf fangirl" post I mentioned that I've never been into Tolkien. I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings once each sometime in my early teens, because my AD&D hardbacks told me to, but I didn't see what the big deal was.
