Been going through a phase...
Yes I've been gone from posting in a while ^^;....sorry about that.
But I'm back. And I've been going through a Digimon phase for a while (Pokemon games phase too...but that's off topic), however I've technically been in the Digicraze...forever.
Now going back to shows I watched as a kid...one of the things I would obsessively watch was Digimon (as well as Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Power Rangers, Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Reboot, DuckTales, and whole other slew of awesome cartoons that were aired on either Cartoon Network, Nick, Disney, WB or Fox Kids...)
Now out of the first four I listed were anime shows...and the only thing I didn't really grow out of and stop watching as I grew up...was Digimon (and Dragonball Z...but...that show kept airing more episodes and more....I was nearly graduating High School when it finally ended XD. DBZ is awesome, and always will be!)
Now I still love the Pokemon games, and I do have a nostalgic love for Pokemon (Kanto-Johto, I stopped watching after that because I was well into Jr. High, and if you watched Pokemon and Power Rangers and stuff...you were a loser. Cept DBZ, I made exceptions for that XD)
Basically I stayed in the closet about still being a Digimon fan. Because growing up on it, it was "a kid's show". And technically...yeah. It is. Only I would categorize it as a "Family show" one for all ages. Becuase Digimon was a VERY well thought out show when it first came out.
Now going on what I'm talking about...I'm talking about the first two seasons, Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02. (I'll speak of the others another day and my opinions on them. I'll let you know ahead of time, the others I'll offer my opinion on, is Digimon Tamers and Digimon Frontier...anything after Season 4...let's just say I have a less than favorable opinion of them)
Anyways...Digimon was great because it brought up a lot of things most "Kid" shows dare not do, or haven't even done something like this before, and I say "kid" show like this because of....how different it was compared to others. That's why I call it Family show...Digimon had so many things going for it. And I'm going to write future entries about Digimon (each season), and give my thoughts and all that jazz, maybe even some character entries and even some pairing ones as well.
But yeah, anyways, my purpose for writing this entry...I have for the LONGEST TIME, been wanting to write a digimon fanfic. And when I got back into the digimon craze this summer (I've long since grown out of my being a closet fan, I'm totally not hiding this at all anymore lol!) I finally decided I am going to sit down and do a fanfic.
Digimon Adventure Remix 02 here is the link.
Basically it takes place during the dub. (so all the dub nicknames will be used...its what I grew up on people). Also, in the dub, Adventure 02 takes place about 4 years after the final battle in Adventure. However in my fanfic, it starts off taking place 2 years after the final battle. Mimi hasn't moved to America yet. The 4 newest Digidestineds (Davis, Ken, Yolei, and Cody) will be in there. Ken however hasn't become evil emperor at this point in my story, since this is before all that would of happened, but trust me when I say, Ken will still have hardships and obstacles to overcome just like he did in the series...just not the ones where he becomes an evil overlord. But that doesn't mean I'm abandoning the "darkness within" plot altogether ;) I have some surprises. I have some old enemies, as well as new ones. Also the reason this story takes place 2 years instead of four, is because I plan on another timeskip to do a sequel fanfic as well...probably taking place either 2-3...something like that. I also am inserting cameos and references to other digimon seasons, games, you name it. I am planning on flushing out some characters a bit more. Maybe character interactions that either didn't happened and should of, or some that were interesting and just didn't happen enough. I also plan on better exploration of Yolei and Cody's characters.
I'll be honest with you all. I loved Digimon Adventure 02. They introduced a lot of cool new things, while keeping some of the same familiar things we loved in adventure...but it had a lot of problems. Quite a lot of them. Now I won't go into that all now, I'll be saving that for later for another time, but I do not mean no disrespect to the writers of Digimon Adventure 02. Because its obvious they had a LOT of great ideas. (but that was SOME of the problem...they either had too many great ideas that weren't explored or explained enough, were clumsily handled, or got forgotten and ignored.) I respect them and am greatful for them for bringing us Adventure 02. They had many wonderful characters, awesome digimon, cool digivolutions and villians, and ideas.
However...Yolei and Cody's handling of characters was one of them. It was not very good. I loved all the characters...except these two, Cody was just boring and kinda annoying. Yolei was very annoying and only sometimes bland.
Yeah...they had potential to be awesome and likeable, but...yeah...it wasn't handled good. I hope to change that.
I will say I am liking them a LOT MORE with my developments.
Pairings in this story are; Taiora, Mimato, Daikari, and Miyakeru (TaixSora, MimixMatt, DavisxKari, YoleixTK)
Also more fun to come.
