Since moving my mom up here 2.5 years ago, I've been nominally in charge of her money. I have her checkbook and debit card, and I make sure her bills are paid on time. This month, for at least the 6th time in a row, she has overdrawn the account again because she does not have enough money to eat for the month. She's already on food stamps. ( Read more... )

You wouldn't think that my sister-in-law deciding not to go back to work after having a baby would affect my pocketbook, but it does. They're not going to be contributing nearly as much to my mom's maintenance. Sigh.

Remember the 10-fold increased gas bill? I had called them and asked them to re-read the meter. They said they would and would call me back. I never heard anything back, but since I got hurt, I hadn't had a chance to follow up. Well, this is what the online account looked like this month.

Posted at 9:15 am today. Refund on its way within 10 days, probably less. Refinancing to follow shortly. Bathroom to follow soon.
