Fun demo - Chow and I did the armour petting zoo along with a new-to-the-area knight named Chad (never did find out if that's his modern or SCA name) who likes purple a lot. Nice guy. We did a fighting demo after that for a while, and I heralded and marshaled it. Fun stuff, to tease the kids a bit and make 'em say 'ewww' (about the piece of armour we don't talk about), and then get all herald-y on them for the fighting.
After the demo, we came home and hung out for a while, then walked over to the elementary school to get the boy. Astrid came along too, and we had a good time. It's a bit over a mile through the woods, and we did get back in the dark, but it was a terrific evening for walking. Nate fell asleep within seconds of finishing dinner, though.
I'm getting ready to go to
LISA in San Diego for a week, and I'll make a point of seeing the Pacific, since I haven't ever before. I expect it looks a lot like the Atlantic backwards, but it's one of those things you do.
Tomorrow, the family obligation. I think I'd rather go to Crown, but there you go.
