Annie wrap = now a little rest

Well Annie (at The Footlight Club) wrapped this weekend, it was truly a fun experience and I have to say a fantastic new chapter in my performing career.   Doing a musical, especially one that is well-known the world over, was an honor to me, and I have such a personal attachment to this play (I sang Annie songs in my fourth grade chorus, I also sang the song Tomorrow a lot around the house as a kid), that again, it was an honor that my first musical was this one.

Also I have to say that the cast really did not have much in the ego department and were very supportive, I would love to work with any of them again. And little blonde Tori Heinlein, who played Molly (in the Annie 101 orphan cast, we had two separate orphan casts), is a future star.

The cast party was fun, awards were given out to staff; Angel (who brought up and down a lot of the flys as well as played the secret service agent at the end of the play) got the "Most enthusiastic off and on the stage" award (not surprisingly of course, this is a guy that would be happy at getting up at 3am to buy you a loaf of bread :-)).

Actually also that night the behind the scenes people (including Angel) had fun getting on the stage (of course after the audience had long left) with a lot of our costumes on, then singing our songs and posing for pictures. Either they were envious, just having fun, had too much to drink....OK, they just had too much to drink :-0

Anyways now I'm a bit sad and nursing a bit of vocal strain, as well as VERY tired.  Looking forward to relaxing, I even am taking a week off in December to relax. Also going to fit in a little trip to NYC with Angel during that time too.   Also now I have time to focus on memorizing all the dialogue I have as Blitzen for The Eight Reindeer Monologues, which is the next 7A series show at The Footlight Club (Dec. 19-21).

As far as doing a musical again? Well I did sign up to audition in January for Nine, a production with The Longwood Players.

Agh, I know, I should take a longer break (only had two months off from performing this year), actually one of my resolutions is to say "No" more and just relax, I'm still going to try to do that.
