In retrospect I'm surprised I didn't update more from Berlin. It was rainy every single day, and most of each day, so we tried to spend more time indoors. But the hotel internet was crap. And I suppose we weren't really there to spend our time playing on the internet anyway.

Trip Leg 3 Part 1 (Ireland) is done. Another whilrwind car tour. I find them pretty exhausting. Especially when you don't start looking for accomodation until 8pm. We tried to make a rule that it had to be 6pm, and always regretted it when we ignored the rule.

So Ålesund turned out to be gorgeous (cute architecture and suburbs rambling from island to island), but I stayed a few hours too long (I slept in) and didn't get to Åndalsnes until just after the finals of the World Base Race which I had forgotten about. I went hiking in the mountains this week. An organization, DNT, has a string of cabins throughout Norway and sells (among other things) topographic maps with trails laid out and estimated time for walking. There's a membership fee that gets you access to "self-service" and "no-service" cabins and discounts at fully "staffed" cabins.

Ah the luxury of regular internet and free time!

There's not much new to report. We've been making hay the past few days. Tomorrow we're expecting rain, so it's important to get the cut hay off the ground before then. We'll probably continue cleaning out the cowshed tomorrow since we can't work in the hayfields or in the garden really.
