That was unexpected!
I just got a call from our choir director at church. I've been in the adult choir for a few months now - it's nothing to write home about and other than the directors daughter I'm the youngest one there. Anyway, due to Monkey's new napping schedule we were contemplating switching from the 1015 service to the 0830 service. Well today the director calls me and asks if I would like to join the Praise Team for the 1015 service! This is so out of the blue to me! He said he had been talking to the Chaplain this morning and they were wondering what they were going to do about Praise Team since his daughter will be gone for 7 weeks this summer and they're also going to be down one other person for a while. He said "All of a sudden God placed your name on my heart. I hadn't even thought of it until then and realized that you'd be perfect! You've got a great voice and you'd be a perfect fit!" I was flattered and shocked! I told him I'd have to talk to hubby b/c we had been contemplating switching to the 0830 service but I'd let him know for sure on Wednesday night at rehearsal. He said they have a Praise Team at that service too if we were going to switch - and honestly? I think we could go to the 0830 together as a family and I could still go to the 1015 while hubby stays home while the Monkey naps. That might even be a great solution I hadn't though of until just now!
On a side note: There's a guy who lives across the parking lot from us who has a new puppy (who's growing so fast!) and she's out right now sniffing and running and such. She just chased a bird and it was so cute!!! However she's not on a leash and the guy is paying ZERO attention to her and a car just came through the lot and the puppy was about to go out through the cars. Argh. She's a puppy and she doesn't know any better dude. Pay attention to her and put her on a leash. Argh.
Hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! :) Apparently my flowers are coming today since hubby went on Friday to order them. He got mad b/c they couldn't deliver them the next day (Saturday). I told him he's silly if he though he could waltz in there on Friday and ask for Saturday delivery the day before Mother's Day! LOL. :) My sister sent me a plant b/c she's awesome. :)
That table used to have candles on it but now that Monkey is army crawling and attempting to really crawl I'm sure it won't be long until he's cruising and...well...can't have candles out where he can reach them. :( But my plant looks great there anyway! :)
I'll leave you with Monkey's new form of "kissing". Not sure where he picked it up from! Although my other sister has a great hypothesis. Maybe he picked it up from the cats? If Ebby or Tyson licks him I always say "Did Ebby give you kisses!?" So I think she may be on to something. :) In any case it's freakin' adorable. :)
