We're almost two months into the school year and it's going swimmingly so far!

I scanned in a few of Isaac's worksheets from his just-finished kindergarten year. These all have a writing prompt (which he sometimes ignores, lol) and a space for him to draw a picture. I also provided translations for the bits where kindergarten spelling can be hard to decipher. ;)

Today is the last day of kindergarten for Isaac. It also marks two months that I've been unemployed. So what better day to do a big catch-up post? Heh.

Isaac's kindergarten class has been learning about fiction vs. nonfic, and at this morning's parent breakfast each kid read a "how-to" book that he/she had written and illustrated. Some of you may be familiar with this picture that floats around the internet every year at Halloween, of a pumpkin that has been carved to look like it's barfing -- with the pumpkin "guts" (seeds and the orange goop) pulled out through the mouth. A lot of crap has been going on lately, so here are a few quick positives to throw out.
