I'm on my way out of Muskegon to have fun with friends before Emily's wedding on Saturday! I'll be out of communication for a while, Or then I'll be here until Saturday morning, and then back on Monday because I got fired, so here's a few more reviews. ^_^
Tabella - olive blossom, frankincense, tobacco flower, benzoin, Little John, bergamot, galangal, angelica, fig, sage, and ginger. - Very soapy and herbal... not very me. Passing on.
Hellhound on My Trail - Bay rum, bourbon vanilla, galangal, hyssop, High John the Conqueror root, tobacco, life everlasting, and brimstone. - Somewhat separated in my aged imp, but still kinda lovely. Nice and boozey. I might like to try a semi-fresher imp.
Tupapau - White sandalwood, pikaki, 'umi'umi-o-dole, and plumeria. - Not my thing. Again with the sandalwood death. I should stop trying.
Bluebeard - Violet, lavender, white musk, and vetiver - I couldn't even bring myself to put it on me. It smelled like opium smoke and cigars. No. Nope. No.
Athens - voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers - this smelled too sweet and spoiled sour. I had to take a pass. Eww.
Crossroads - A chill twilit garden of blooms over dry earth and mosses, heavily laden with incense and offertory herbs. - A light garden scent that reminds me of my grandparents' backyard. Not a keeper, but better than the other two I tried today.
Amsterdam - Tulips, peony, fresh flowing water and crisp green grasses. - Very bland, not much of anything to it and completely gone in about an hour. Not noticeable notes. Passing along.
Incantation - Deep, wispy, and unfathomably dark: vetiver, dark woods, crumbling and burnt black sandalwood and a drop of lemon rind. - Oh, surprisingly I *really* like this, but for a guy. I need to find a guy to try this on. It would be *heaven*... and I'd have a fantastic response to him.
Butter Rum Cookie 08 - A boozy addition to the devil's bake sale! Rum-soaked butter cookies, crusted with sugar, soaked in almond and garnished with orange rind. - A bit overly rich and sweet for my tastes. migraine inducing. Passing along.
Candy Phoenix - A dusky, yet effervescent mix of pomegranate and black currant candies, with a dusting of sugared pear and white apple - I don't get any fruit, just sugarsugarsugar. Not a very pleasing note to my nose.
