And I'm feeling good...

It's been two months since Christmas Day, and I've finally cracked open my gifted copy of Dexter The Second Season.  I know, I know, I'm way behind on this show.  I haven't seen any of season 2 (save the first 3 eps), or season 3.  I don't know why, but I always feel compelled to wait until it's on DVD to watch it.  Maybe its the underlying feeling that if I download it, Dexter will come and chop me up into little pirating pieces.

But, godDAMN!  I forgot how good this show is!  I want Michael C. Hall to narrate my life!

In other news, I've just sent out an application to take some online courses to make up for this semester.  I don't think I've mentioned it, but I've come back to Canada, and am taking the semester off.  I couldn't deal with another semester in Glasgow.  It was just not challenging or fullfilling enough.  But, though it was a hard decision to make, it was ultimately the right one.  Since coming home, everything has fallen into place - I got a job, a place to live next school year, and (if I get these courses started) I'll have all the credits I need to be able to graduate next spring (the time I was planning on graduating).

Which has got me looking into grad schools.  Originally, I was going to be done with school after I got my BA, but with the economy the way it is, it may be a better investment to just stay in school.  My friend Matt (who will have, as of May, two degrees - English and Film Studies), has suggested the University of Southern California's two year MFA (that's Master of Fine Arts), in Writing for the Screen and Television.  The more I research it, the more I like it.  *Sigh*  So it looks like I won't be finished with school until I'm 26.  Oh well.  I like school.  But the next few years of my life are going to be a neverending clusterfuck of applications, fees, and visa prerequisites (being a Canadian, I'll have to apply to USC as an international student).  But, I'll be in Los Angeles, the heart of the film and television industry.  If I can't make industry connections at the oldest film school in the United States (est. 1929), then I have no business persuing a career in screenwriting.
