This week, on a very special Women Who Make Me Want to Dye My Hair Brown....

Caught this off of The Daily Show by way of Jezebel. If at any point you have had to endure Fox News in the mornings, you have caught "Fox and Friends", the network's morning chat show. My political leanings aside, the fact that I can remember Steve Doocy from his days as the wacky human interest story guy on the local news in Washington, D.C. is the first reason that I can't shake the strong whiff of bullshit that emanates from the program. The second has just been uncovered by the merry band on Comedy Central, and starts halfway through this clip:

In short, Gretchen Carlson, Valedictorian, Stanford graduate, is playing dumb so neither Steve Doocy, "The Black Haired Guy Who Isn't Steve Doocy", the guys watching Fox News, and let's face it, Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch don't feel bad about themselves.

But hey, the right wing of this country has been spending the past forty years making intellectual a bad word, so I guess this is to be expected. I just wonder how she copes with having a degree from Stanford but having to pretend that she has to look up words like "ignoramus" and "czar". Granted they are fancypants loanwords from Latin and Russian respectively, but *COME* *ON*. I just can fathom the Proud of Being Ignorant schtick that is gaining such popularity these days. I like living in a developed country, thankyouverymuch, and these idiots to not realize that it is the geeks, brainacs, and nerds of the country that make reliable electric grids, potable drinking water, and the very internet on which they spam everyone with Birther crap possible.

Let's just say that it is stuff like that clip that make me very glad to live in a town where every third car has an Obama sticker on it...
