Chocolate shortbread is becoming a Jane Austen Night tradition

Feb 10, 2008 22:47

The weekend's accomplishments: one valance finished and the other very close to being done. I would have finished the second one tonight, but I decided to spend the evenings Jane Austen presentation baking heart-shaped chocolate shortbread instead.

The Complete Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice With Colin Firth in a Bathtub: For this week, Darcy gets an emo score of 6.5 (not nearly as emo as Emo!Darcy from the 2005 movie* so far) and Bingley gets a 1 as he is completely sunny and non-emo. We'll see whether the scores shift at all in the second installment. Anyway, I'm glad to finally see this adaptation. I've always heard wonderful things about it and I'm enjoying it immensely so far (although I find I liked the pacing of the movie a bit better).

*I can't decide who's my standard for a perfect 10 emo score - Movie Darcy or Fredrick from a few weeks back (I gave him an 8, but I keep wanting to re-evaluate since no one else is hitting even close to that level of mopeyness).
